“Cooking is like love, it should be entered into with complete abandon or not at all.” – Harriet Von Horne
When did it begin for me? When I was a little girl, my culinary adventures began by way of a loaned Easy-Bake Oven. From that first little loaf of bread I baked, I’ve been enthralled by the variety of recipes and dishes I have had the pleasure of experiencing from around the world.
Growing up on a grass-fed beef farm, I learned about quality food and ingredients. Farm-to-table meals on a regular basis taught me to appreciate the love that goes into preparing food, and the joy that comes from sharing flavorful meals, fresh baked goods and decadent desserts. My father is a former executive chef and butcher by trade, who provided me the foundations of my cooking knowledge and ignited my passion to work with food. Through observing him and my mother cook – both who are highly skilled in Swiss and European cuisine – I began to appreciate the intricacies involved in preparing an unforgettable meal. Over the course of my life I have have been drawn to many different cuisines and have had opportunities to learn about and cook a variety of delicious dishes.
In addition to my passion for food, I absolutely love exploring the nearby mountains, hiking and mountain biking and the various ethnic markets in the area.
I’m eager to share with you the recipes I’ve learned and created over the years, with emphasis placed on authenticity! You can look forward to recipes that are healthy and nutritious, in addition to some creations that are the most comforting of comfort foods, and the most divine treat to a sweet tooth!
